Help and support
Answers to common questions about the Jetwren app, and how to reach us.
Contact us
Email support@jetwren.com. We read every message and reply as soon as we can.
In the app, Settings → Contact support opens an email with your app version and phone model filled in, which helps us find the problem faster. Please don't send booking references, passport details or boarding pass images; we never need them.
Getting started
Do I need an account?
No. Open the app, add a flight and you're set. Jetwren creates a random ID for your phone so it knows which flights to send alerts for. You can sign in later, if you want backup and sync.
How do I add a flight?
Tap + on the Home screen, type the flight number (for example "ZZ 128" or "ZZ128") and pick the date. Tap the result, then Add flight. You can also tap Scan a boarding pass to read the barcode from a paper pass, a screenshot or a PDF.
My flight isn't found. What can I do?
Check the flight number and the date. The date is the local departure date at the airport you leave from, which can differ from your own date on overnight or long trips. You can add flights from 2 days ago up to 180 days ahead. If a flight is very new or operated by a small airline, our flight data provider may not list it yet; try again closer to the day.
Why don't I see the gate or delays yet?
Live details usually appear about a day before departure. Until then you see the schedule. Gates are often assigned only shortly before boarding, and some airports share less detail than others.
Which airlines does Jetwren work with?
Flight status and alerts work for flights on airlines around the world that our flight data provider covers. Check-in reminders and cabin bag rules are available for a first set of budget airlines, and we add more over time. Compensation checks cover the passenger rights laws listed in the app, with more regions to come.
Is Jetwren free?
Yes, tracking, alerts, sharing and the compensation check are free.
Is Jetwren connected to any airline?
No. Jetwren is independent and not affiliated with any airline or airport. Always check important information, such as check-in deadlines and bag rules, with your airline.
Alerts and Live Activities
I'm not getting alerts.
- In the app, Settings → Alerts: check that alerts are on and the flight isn't muted.
- In your phone's settings, check that notifications are allowed for Jetwren (iPhone: Settings → Notifications → Jetwren).
- Check Quiet hours in Jetwren: alerts during quiet hours are held until they end, unless your flight leaves soon.
- Make sure the phone has a connection. Jetwren only sends an alert when something changes, so a quiet day can simply mean nothing changed.
What will Jetwren alert me about?
Gate assigned or changed, delays (and when a delay gets shorter), cancellations, diversions, departure, landing and the baggage belt, plus reminders when free online check-in opens and before it closes for supported airlines. You choose which ones in Settings → Alerts, and you can mute a single flight.
How do lock-screen updates work on iPhone?
For your own flights, Jetwren shows a Live Activity on the Lock Screen (and in the Dynamic Island on iPhones that have it) from 4 hours before departure until 30 minutes after you land. Change the start time (2 to 6 hours) in Settings → Alerts → Lock screen, or turn Live Activities off there or in your iPhone's settings.
The time or gate in Jetwren is different from the airport screen.
Jetwren shows what our flight data provider reports, which can occasionally lag behind or differ from the airport. If in doubt, follow the airport screens and your airline's messages. You can tell us about the flight at support@jetwren.com so we can look into it.
Account, backup and new phones
Why would I sign in?
To back up your trips and settings, and to see them on another phone. It's optional. You can sign in with Apple or with Google in Settings → Back up and sync.
What do you get when I sign in?
A sign-in ID from Apple or Google, and the email address they share with us. With Apple's Hide My Email we only see a forwarding address. We never ask for your name.
I'm getting a new phone.
If you're signed in, install Jetwren on the new phone and sign in with the same Apple or Google account; your trips appear there. If you aren't signed in, your trips are linked to the old phone only, so sign in on the old phone first, or add the flights again on the new one.
I signed in on a phone that already had trips.
Jetwren asks whether to combine them. Duplicates are kept once.
How do I sign out?
Settings → Account → Sign out. Your account stays, so you can sign in again later; the phone goes back to a fresh start without your trips.
Export your data
In the app: Settings → Privacy → Export my data. You get a file with everything we store about your phone (or your account, if you're signed in) and the trips on your phone. It's a standard JSON file you can open in any text editor. You need an internet connection to export.
Delete your data
From the app (fastest, works for everyone)
- Not signed in: Settings → Privacy → Delete everything.
- Signed in: Settings → Privacy → Delete account and data.
This deletes your trips, alerts, share links, settings, saved boarding passes and notes, on the phone and on our servers, straight away. If you're signed in, it deletes your whole account and signs out every phone that uses it, and ends Jetwren's access to your Apple ID if you used Sign in with Apple. Anyone you shared a flight with loses access. This can't be undone. You need an internet connection, so we can delete the data on our servers too.
If you've already deleted the app
- If you weren't signed in, the data on our servers can't be linked to you any more, and it's deleted automatically after 12 months without use. Reinstalling the app won't help (it creates a new ID), so there's nothing more you need to do.
- If you were signed in, reinstall Jetwren, sign in with the same Apple or Google account and choose Delete account and data. Or email support@jetwren.com from the email address linked to your account (for Hide My Email, from the Apple ID that uses it) and ask us to delete it. We'll confirm when it's done, within one month at the latest.
Stopping Sign in with Apple separately: on iPhone, Settings → your name → Sign-In & Security → Sign in with Apple → Jetwren → Stop Using. To delete your Jetwren data as well, use the in-app option above.
Your data and privacy
What does Jetwren store?
In the app, Settings → Privacy → What we store lists it in plain words. In short: a random ID for your phone, push notification tokens, the flights you add or follow and your alert settings, share links you create, and, if you sign in, a sign-in ID and the email your provider shares. Boarding pass details, images, notes, your home location and claim letters stay on your phone.
Do you sell my data or show ads?
No. We don't sell data, we don't show ads in the app, and we don't track you across other apps or websites.
Where can I read the full policy?
The Jetwren app privacy policy. The website and waitlist have their own privacy notice.
